Dallied Kien’s journey in the energy sector began in 1985 when he graduated from the Inter-African Higher School of Electricity. His career trajectory has been marked by a series of remarkable achievements and leadership roles:
Upon graduation, he joined EECI as the Head of the Technical Division of the Regional Distribution Directorate of Yamoussoukro.
- In 1988, he assumed the position of Head of the Central District of Gagnoa.
- From 1992 to 1999, he served successively as Regional Director of the South-West (Gagnoa), the South-Central (Yamoussoukro), and Yopougon (Abidjan) at the CIE (Compagnie Ivoirienne d’Electricity).
- In December 1998, Dallied Kien received the prestigious Zadi Kessy Marcel Prize of Excellence for his invention, a system for protecting HV/LV Distribution transformers against lightning, which was implemented at the Central-South Regional Directorate.
- By December 1999, he was appointed as the Director of Commercial Operations of the Central Distribution Directorate of the CIE.
- In 2001, he made history by becoming the first Ivorian to hold the position of Central Director of Electricity Distribution in Côte d’Ivoire, overseeing twelve Regional Directorates and the Technical and Commercial Operations Directorates
- Since December 4, 2019, Dallied Kien has taken on the pivotal role of Country Manager for the USAID Energy Program for West Africa, known as the West Africa Energy Program (WAEP).
